Bee' N Love Honey

The honey Toni started keeping bees for: local honey for her three boys. The same honey she stirs into her own coffee and tea. Small harvests from a few healthy hives, bottled by hand.

Why it's different

Honey the way bees make it

🍯

One ingredient

Honey. That's the whole label. No syrups, no blends, no additives.

🌼

Local flowers

Our bees forage around Texarkana, so the flavor is a taste of this corner of Texas.

🐝

Bees first

We leave the bees plenty for themselves and only harvest the extra.

✋

Small batch

A handful of hives, a short season, every jar filled by Toni.

Flower to jar

How a jar comes together

The bees go foraging

Spring and summer blooms around the hives fill the comb with nectar.

They make it honey

The bees fan the nectar down into thick honey and cap each cell with wax.

Toni pulls the extra frames

Only capped, ripe frames the colony can spare. The bees keep the rest for winter.

Spun out

The wax caps come off and the frames go for a spin in the extractor. Honey flies out, the comb goes back to the bees.

Settled and bottled

It rests in the buckets, then pours straight from the gate into the bottle.

Ways to enjoy it

A spoonful goes a long way

☕

In coffee & tea

Toni's favorite. Stir it in while it's hot.

🍞

On warm toast

Or biscuits, cornbread, pancakes. You know the drill.

🧀

With cheese

A drizzle over a cheese board, with a few pecans on the side.

🥣

In your baking

Swap some of the sugar for honey for a softer, richer bake.

More from the hive

Beeswax & goat's milk goods

Lip balm, creams and lotion made alongside the honey. The shop is closed while Toni makes the next batch, so tap "Notify me" on anything you want.

Honey questions

Anything else? Ask Toni.

When is honey available?

Honey is harvested once the bees have more than they need, usually late spring into summer. Supply is small and goes fast, so the waitlist hears first.

My honey went cloudy or solid. Is it bad?

Not at all. Real honey crystallizes naturally over time. Set the jar in a bowl of warm (not boiling) water and stir until it's runny again.

How should I store it?

Lid on, at room temperature, out of direct sun. No need to refrigerate. Honey keeps for a very long time.

Can I pick it up locally?

Yes. Choose pickup in Texarkana at checkout or in your order notes, and Toni will arrange a time with you.

Does local honey help with allergies?

It's the reason Toni started: all three of her boys have bad allergies, and plenty of families swear by a daily spoonful of local honey. The research is still mixed, so think of it as a delicious thing to try rather than a treatment, and keep taking whatever your doctor recommends.

Is honey okay for babies?

No. Please don't give honey of any kind to children under 12 months old.
